Samsung has produced plenty of low to mid-range handsets this year, and the Galaxy J2 was a smartphone that fell on the low end of the spectrum. The Samsung Galaxy J3 already exists, and it has just passed through the benchmark listings over on GFXBench.
The Galaxy J line was one of Samsung’s many new product lines this year, and it was also one of the least impressive thanks to the Galaxy J2. Well, the Samsung Galaxy J3 looks to be a solid upgrade over the original, and while it’s far from flagship material, it could be a popular device if Sammy manages to get the price right.
According to the GFXBench listing, the Samsung Galaxy J3 will feature a 5-inch panel with a resolution of 720p, which is a big upgrade compared to the previous 4.7-inch display’s resolution of 540 x 960. The chip running the show is listed as the popular 64-bit Snapdragon 410, which is followed by the usual mid-range combo of 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. As for the cameras, there’s an 8MP snapper on the back to go along with a 2MP sensor on the front.
The device listed on GFXBench carries the model number SM-J3109 and it could be awhile before it hits the streets considering how new the Galaxy J2 still is. Needless to say, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any new information on the Samsung Galaxy J3 as more leaks should surface now that the handset has made an appearance.
