Pantel isn’t a brand we’ve covered often, but we’re doing so today as they’ve just announced a new device for India. The Pantel Penta T-Pad Ultra is bound for the region and it’s a medium-sized slate with voice-calling capabilities.
Analysts have said the days of the tablet are numbered, but we beg to differ as there are plenty of new slates to choose from. The Pantel Penta T-Pad Ultra has launched as a low-end offering for consumers in India, but it offers up several features that make it worth a look if you can get around the big bezels and mediocre innards.
The Pantel Penta T-Pad Ultra sports a 7-inch panel with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 and is powered by a combo of 1GB of RAM and a 1.3GHz quad-core chip. The storage capacity is listed at 8GB, but expandable up to 32GB through the usual means. As for the snappers, you’ll get an above average sensor on the backside with an 8MP camera while the front-facing sensor is listed at 5MP.
In the connectivity department, the Pantel Penta T-Pad Ultra features the usual suspects like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB OTG. It also has 3G/4G connectivity, and you’ll get Dual-SIM card slots to go along with those voice-calling capabilities. We don’t have a number on the battery life, but you shouldn’t expect miracles from the 3,000mAh juice box. Last but not least is the OS, which is listed as Android 5.1 Lollipop.
If the Pantel Penta T-Pad Ultra looks like a good option for you, it is available to purchase in India from HomeShop18 and grabthefuture. The slate will set you back Rs. 6,999 and is ready to roll in Blue, Grey or Red with a matching keyboard cover.
