If you follow the wild world of smartphones from the Far East, you are probably familiar with Bluboo. The Bluboo Xtouch is set to be the company’s flagship of 2015, and the cheaper variant has just gone live with an attractive price tag of $179.
The Bluboo Xtouch is “Probably the best 5-inch smartphone so far” according to the company’s landing page for the handset. While we appreciate their uncertain honesty, the Xtouch has plenty to offer and comes with a low price tag to boot. Design-wise, the smartphone features an alloy chassis with a super slim profile of only 5.5mm. The backplate is easy on the eyes as well, with a familiar textured diamond pattern.
The Bluboo Xtouch may be thin, but there’s still plenty of pop behind the 5-inch FHD IPS display. A speedy 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor will keep things humming along with some help from 3GB of RAM, while the storage capacity is listed at 32GB. As for the cameras, the rear snapper is a 13MP Sony sensor and the selfie-snapper clocks in at 8MP.
Connectivity options for the Bluboo Xtouch include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G LTE, and a 3-in-1 SIM setup that allows for two SIM cards and a microSD card. There’s also 360-degree fingerprint sensor that’s said to be lighting quick with a response time of 0.3s. A 3,060mAh battery with quick charging will keep the lights on and it will run Android although we don’t know what version.
The Bluboo Xtouch is ready to order from various e-tailers with a price tag of $179.99. A beefier version of the smartphone is in the works with 4GB of RAM and other upgrades, but we’re unsure of when that one will arrive.
