HTC appears to be concentrating on variants of a theme just lately, and now another HTC One M9 version has been launched. The recently announced and much-awaited HTC One A9 bridges the mid-range to high-end of the smartphone markets, and the same could be said of the HTC One M9e. We have details of the official specs and price for the One M9e coming right up.
Specifications of the HTC One M9e tie in with those leaked in a TENAA appearance. They include a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor, PowerVR G6200 graphics, and a 5-inch display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD to 200GB), and a 2840 mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS.
Further HTC One M9e specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, optical image stabilization, and 4K video capture, and an UltraPixel front-facing snapper with 1080p video recording capability. The phone runs the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS skinned with HTC’s Sense UI and features dual front-facing BoomSound speakers. The handset measures 144.6mm x 69.7mm x 9.61mm and it weighs 157g.
The phone has just been introduced in China, but there’s no news yet on when/if it will be available for further markets. The HTC One M9e has a unibody metal build and will be available in Gold, Gunmetal Grey, or Silver color choices. The price for China is CNY 2699. That equates to around $425, £278, €387, or Rs. 27,700, though of course those prices are just indicators of what they could be if the phone releases elsewhere.
Samsung already has a name for muddling the market with the amount of variants it produces, and now it looks as though HTC is going down the same route. Would you think of purchasing the HTC One M9e if it releases where you are? Let us know with your comments.
