There are far too many Canvas smartphones from Micromax to keep up with, and the company is far from done with the lineup. The Micromax Canvas Mega has just been announced as a phablet-sized solution for consumers in India and it comes with a fairly cheap price tag of Rs. 8,320.

Micromax is a brand that’s known for budget smartphones, and they were one of the more popular companies in the mid-range biz over the past few years. Times have changed, and while there’s a lot more competition these days, the company keeps cranking out handsets like the Micromax Canvas Mega.

The Micromax Canvas Mega is in the phablet range, which means you’ll get a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720. A 1.4GHz octa-core processor and 1GB of RAM will provide the horsepower, and you’ll get 8GB of internal storage to boot. Other features to note include a 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing snapper, microSD card slot and 3G connectivity. The dual-SIM smartphone will run Android 5.0 and packs a 2,820mAh battery.

The Micromax Canvas Mega specifications aren’t horrid, but they necessarily great either there are smartphones with similar specs and 4G in its price range. The Micromax Canvas Mega will be available in the region through Flipkart, and you’ll be able to snag one for Rs. 8,320 which equates to €115/$127.
