Next week a big game is coming to consoles and desktops around the globe, and EA wants you to be ready for it. The Star Wars Battlefront Companion App has just arrived for mobile users, and it’s a great way to get ready for Star Wars Battlefront ahead of its launch next Tuesday.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you are probably well aware of the Star Wars Battlefront release. The Force is strong as you can’t get away from the commercials on the small screen, mobile or browser. Well, the Star Wars Battlefront Companion App is live a week ahead of the games launch, and it’s a great thing if you want to get a leg up in the game.
It’s common for console games to get mobile tie-ins, and while the Star Wars Battlefront Companion App isn’t totally active yet, there are some cool features to take in. The app will allow you to check out your stats or find out when your pals are playing, but Base Command is what commanded our attention. It’s a card-based game that allows you to earn credit for use in the main game, but can also be played as a standalone title if you don’t have the console or PC game.
As for the gameplay behind Base Command, it’s basically a turn-based tower defense game that puts your base in the middle surrounded by shields. You’ll try to stop the enemy from crashing the gates by using cards randomly pulled from a deck. It’s not the deepest mini-game you’ll play, but we aren’t going to complain about getting free credits.
If you plan on purchasing Star Wars Battlefront or already have it pre-ordered, you will most definitely want to pick up the Star Wars Battlefront Companion App. It’s polished and has plenty of content to pick through, and we have to give a tip of the cap to EA for getting this one out well ahead of the official launch. You can pick up the Star Wars Battlefront Companion App for free on Google Play or the App Store.
