Earlier this month we reported on the Oppo A53 that had just turned up for certification at Chinese regulatory authority TENAA. That’s always a good sign of an imminent launch, and today the Oppo A53 specs have been made official. We have the confirmed details of this smartphone coming right up.
Some readers may have heard of the Oppo A33 that was officially launched just over a week ago. It’s a fairly low-end smartphone, but the new Oppo A53 is a definite improvement so might attract more attention. It has a metal build with lightweight magnesium alloy and a matte finish on the reverse. It’s close in design to the A33 and features 2.5D glass.
Oppo A53 specs include a 1.5GHz Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 HD resolution. There’s 2GB of RAM and16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It packs a 3075 mAh battery claimed to last for up to 300 hours of standby time, and also features VOCC fast charging with an included 5V/2A adapter.
The camera set-up includes a 13-megapixel rear camera with Isocell technology and LED flash, while up front there’s a 5-megapixel snapper with selfie features such as beauty 3.0. The Oppo A53 is a dual SIM handset with hybrid SIM slot, and it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Oppo’s ColorOS 2.1. Connectivity is covered with 4G LTE and other usual suspects such as WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and microUSB 2.0.
The Oppo A53 is 7.43mm and weighs 153g. While it’s good to know that the Oppo A53 specs have now been made official, there are no details about the price yet or exactly when it will be made available. It’s currently shown on Oppo China, but could also be made available in further markets. Does the Oppo A53 look like a phone that you might purchase if it becomes available in your region?
