The Vivo X6 has been the subject of multiple leaks and rumors, and we knew that Vivo was holding an event today for the launch of this smartphone. Just as expected it has now been unveiled along with the Vivo X6 Plus. We have news on the Vivo X6 and X6 Plus prices from the official launch, as well as confirmed specs for these new smartphones.
The new X series Vivo X6 has a metal unibody build and features 2.5D Gorilla Glass. You’ll find a fingerprint sensor on the back of the handset that takes just 0.2 second to achieve unlock and supports 360-degree unlocking. The phone also supports secure payments with the TEE trusted payment system. Interestingly many of the specs differ from those that were previously leaked.
Vivo X6 specs include a 1.7GHz 64-bit octa-core processor, and 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. It has 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus and dual tone LED flash. There’s also an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with wide-angle lens, and the camera app can open in just 0.6 seconds with object focus in only 0.1 seconds.
The phone also has a 2400 mAh battery, and support for twin engine flash charging. It runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system skinned with FunTouch OS 2.5, as does the Vivo X6 Plus. The X6 Plus has a larger 5.7-inch display with the same Full HD resolution, and steps up to 64GB of internal storage. Another difference is that the X6 Plus comes in two versions, one with a 3000 mAh battery and the other with a 4000 mAh battery.
Color options are Gold, Rose Gold, or Silver, and the release date in China is December 7, although we don’t have news yet on international availability. The Vivo X6 and X6 Plus prices start from CNY 2498 or CNY 2998. Those prices are equivalent to around $390/$470, £260/£310, or Rs. 26,000/Rs. 31,200.
