Acer Iconia One 8 tablet set to land with $99 price tag

#

Acer is no stranger to the tablet game, and while they may not be a major player in that field, they’re going to gain some fans with the upcoming Acer Iconia One 8. It’s one of many devices being announced ahead of CES 2016 and it could be one of the most affordable Android tablets of the year.

On the outside, the Acer Iconia One 8 looks like any number of Android-based slates in the budget range. The backside has a bit of a textured look and the bezels are pretty beefy. It may not win many beauty contests, but the slate is a winner when it comes to pricing. The Acer Iconia One 8 price is set at $99.99 and you’re getting Android 5.1 straight out of the box.

The Acer Iconia One 8 has a large 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800. We’re not sure of the processor at this time, but it will be a MediaTek chip of the quad-core variety. There’s 1GB of RAM and the storage is listed at 16GB but expandable through a microSD card slot. On the backside of the Acer Iconia One 8, you’ll find a 5MP snapper while a 2MP sensor takes care of the selfies. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The Acer Iconia One 8 is powered by a 4,600mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1.

It’s not every day you see a hundred dollar slate running Android 5.1, especially when it comes from a solid manufacturer. We don’t have a firm release date for the Acer Iconia One 8 yet, but it will land in the US in February for $99 in Blue or White.

What do you think of the Acer Iconia One 8 price compared to its specs?
