The Asus Zenfone Max was officially introduced at the ZenFestival in India in August last year, and at that time it was thought it would be available from October. That didn’t happen but we’re glad to say that the Asus Zenfone Max has finally launched in India, and we have pre-order and price information coming right up.
This smartphone that packs a massive 5,000 mAh battery is now available to pre-order through Flipkart and also Amazon. Checking out Flipkart’s site today we can see a tentative availability date from January 14, while on Amazon the release date is shown as January 15. Either way it looks as though there isn’t too long to wait. The Asus Zenfone Max price at both retailers is Rs. 9,999.
Asus Zenfone Max specs include a 1GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, a 5.5-inch IPS display with HD resolution of 1280 x 720, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD to 64GB. The Asus Zenfone Max runs the Android 5.0 Lollipop-based ZenUI 2.0. Further specifications include a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. Connectivity is covered with 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and more.
It’s juiced by the previously mentioned non-removable 5,000 mAh power plant, and it’s worth pointing out that this can be used to charge other devices. The battery is said to last for up to 38 hours of talk time or up to 914 hours on standby, a factor that might make this an appealing choice for those who make heavy use of their phones.
We’re seeing more and more smartphones turn up with large battery capacities. Just a few other recent examples are the Gionee Marathon M4, Lenovo Vibe P1, and the recently introduced Gionee Marathon M5, but the Asus Zenfone Max is one of the most affordable. Are you intending to make the Zenfone Max your next smartphone purchase? We always appreciate receiving your comments.
