We’ve already reported on several leaks about the Sony Xperia Z6 lineup that will release in 2016, with tips of several different variants so far. While we wait for more concrete news on this we can spend some time looking at concept ideas for the phones. The one we’re sharing today is a Sony Xperia Z6 Compact Premium design that’s accompanied by specs.
In early December a leak suggested five possible variants of the Sony Xperia Z6, a regular Z6, Z6 Ultra, Z6 Compact, Z6 Plus, and Z6 Mini. At the end of the month we also heard of another possible addition to the lineup in the form of an Xperia Z6 Lite. Of course at this stage nothing has been confirmed but we can always imagine what might arrive. Now concept designer Aitor Amigo has come up with an idea for a Sony Xperia Z6 Compact Premium.
Many times when we cover concept visions they focus solely on the design. However, this time the designer has also given some envisioned specs and interesting features for the device. Starting with specifications this Sony Xperia Z6 Compact Premium packs a Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 graphics, and a 4.7-inch display with Full HD resolution and 73.8% screen to body ratio. It has 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD).
Camera wise you’re looking at a 23-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone features a fingerprint sensor as well as a USB Type-C port. It meets IP69K certification standards offering resistance against dust, high temperature sprays, close range pressure and more. The handset itself has a titanium frame with rear mirror shell and features Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Although the phone looks very sleek it still manages to look fairly sturdy if that makes sense. It’s slim enough though at 8.9mm thick, and it weighs in at 139g. No doubt we’ll be seeing many more design ideas for Sony Xperia Z6 devices before they are eventually launched. As always we’ll keep you informed with news on the real deals.
In the meantime we’d really like to know what you think of this Sony Xperia Z6 Compact Premium design? What do you want to see Sony bring to the table for the next flagships?
