ZTE Nubia Z11 and X8 January 18 launch tipped
There have been leaks and rumors about the ZTE Nubia Z11 and Nubia X8 for quite some time, but it looks as though we’ll be hearing much more very soon. A ZTE Nubia Z11 and X8 January 18 launch is being tipped, and from what we know so far there’s plenty to get excited about.
Back in November we showed some claimed renders of the ZTE Nubia Z11 that had surfaced in China. In more news in December it was suggested that the Z11 could release at the same time in the US as for China, although there’s no further news on that yet. This is something that would no doubt be a popular move for many prospective buyers though, as it looks likely to be one of the first smartphones to release with the Snapdragon 820 processor. It would also help to further ZTE’s expansion into markets outside China.
ZTE’s sister division has just announced that there will be a company event on January 18 in Shenzhen, China. Expectations are that the ZTE Nubia Z11 and the ZTE Nubia X8 will both be launched at this event. Unofficial specs of the ZTE Nubia Z11 so far include the Snapdragon 820 SoC, Adreno 530 graphics, and a 5.2-inch display with Quad HD resolution. It’s thought to have 4GB of RAM, and a 21-megapixel rear camera. The phone looks set to be running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS skinned with Nubia’s UI on release.
As for the ZTE Nubia X8, we showed some leaked images purporting to show this handset back in October. The latest round of leaked specs on this one suggest a Snapdragon 820 chip again, a massive 6.44-inch display, and a 4500 mAh battery. It’s thought to have a fingerprint reader on the back of the handset, but remember, all of the specs mentioned have not yet been made official.
Along with the potential launch date, some new images of both phones have appeared on Weibo. Above you can see a picture claiming to be of the Nubia Z11, and directly below it you’ll see one claimed to be of the Nubia X8. You can see more of the newly leaked images at the source link below, although we will point out that the camera placement on the new pictures of the X8 is different from the previous renders we saw. Therefore it’s still a case of wait and see.
Hopefully there’s not too long to wait if this launch event does indeed turn out to be for the ZTE Nubia Z11 and Nubia X8. Which of these two new devices are you most interested in?
