A few days ago, we told you about a new Aquos branded handset from Sharp. Well, it appears we missed one as the Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 has been spotted with barely there bezels and mid-range specs.
The Sharp Aquos XX-Y is an upcoming smartphone on the high-end when it comes to specs, and the Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 appears to be its little brother in terms of design. It’s quite a bit smaller than the XX-Y thanks to a more manageable 5.2-inch display and sports a resolution of 720p in place of the FHD panel found on its sibling. In terms of size, it’s a little hefty measuring 136mm x 71mm x 11mm with a weight of 153grams.
You’ll get 16GB of storage out of the box with the Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 and 2GB of RAM should be more than sufficient to handle most user’s needs. Unfortunately, the processor is listed as a Snapdragon 400, which is a bit underwhelming to say the least. Other features to note include a 8MP/2.1MP camera combo, NFC, Bluetooth, 4G LTE and Dual SIM connectivity. It’s powered by a 2,030mAh battery and runs Android 5.0.
At the moment, the Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 appears to be available in Japan and there’s been no word on an international release at this time. That could change as it did with last year’s Aquos lineup, and if it does we’ll be around to give you the scoop.
