Last year Reliance Jio announced the Lyf brand of smartphones, and last week we gave readers details of the Lyf Water 1, Water 2, and Earth 1 as they had all become officially listed for India. The Lyf Flame 1 is a VoLTE phone that has now also appeared on the company website, and this is a cheaper alternative to the other three.
The official listing for the Lyf Flame 1 gives the price and specifications of this entry-level smartphone, and connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFi, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and microUSB 2.0. It has a 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor, a 4.5-inch display with resolution of 854 x 480, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded via microSD to 32GB.
Further Lyf Flame 1 specs include a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and also a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Keeping the juice flowing is a 2000 mAh battery that’s claimed to offer up to 200 hours on standby or up to 8 hours of talk time. This is a dual SIM phone that runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. It measures 132.6mm x 66.2mm x 9.3mm and it weighs in at 138g.
The Lyf Flame 1 price is Rs. 6,490 and it comes in Black, Dark Red, and White color options. By comparison the Lyf Water 1, Water 2, and Earth 1 (see previous article) are all powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor. They have price tags ranging from Rs. 14,690 to Rs. 23,990. Although the Lyf Flame 1 is now on the Reliance Digital website it’s not yet up for sale. However, we imagine it will be available before too much longer.
Do you find any of these new Lyf smartphones an appealing proposition? Are you more likely to buy the budget Lyf Flame 1 or spend more for the Lyf Water 1, Water 2, or Earth 1? Do let us know with your comments.
