There seems to be a constant stream of new smartphone releases in India, and two of the most recent are the Micromax Canvas 6 and the YU Yureka Note. These are both Android handsets with large displays and similar prices, so today we’re considering the Micromax Canvas 6 vs Yu Yureka Note on specs and price.
The Canvas 6 was launched alongside the Micromax Canvas 6 Pro last week. The Pro variant is already available to pre-order with the regular version expected soon. Although we’re concentrating on the standard Canvas 6 in this comparison, we’ll mention the differences between it and the Pro version afterwards. The Yu Yureka Note also launched last week. Processors
The Micromax Canvas 6 has a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor and Mali-T720 graphics. The Yureka Note is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor with Mali-T720MP3 graphics.
Display
The Canvas 6 has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 resulting in 401 ppi. The Yu Yureka Note has a 6-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution again resulting in 367 ppi.
RAM and Storage
Both phones features 3GB of RAM. The Canvas 6 has 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 64GB via microSD. The Yureka Note only has 16GB of internal storage but this can be expanded to 128GB.
Camera set-up
The Micromax Canvas 6 carries a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus, LED flash, and 1080p video capture. The Yureka Note also has a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus and 1080p video capture, but this time there’s dual LED flash. Both phones have 8-megapixel front-facing shooters.
Battery
There’s a 3000 mAh battery for the Micromax Canvas 6 and a 4000 mAh battery for the Yu Yureka Note.
Connectivity
Both are dual SIM handsets that support 4G LTE, 3G, GPS, and microUSB 2.0. The Canvas 6 has dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1 while the Yureka Note has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.
Operating System
The Micromax Canvas 6 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and the Yu Yureka Note runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Price
The Micromax Canvas 6 price is Rs. 13,999 and the Yu Yureka Note launched at Rs. 13,499.
Although we haven’t detailed all of the various features of these two smartphones we will say that they both feature fingerprint sensors. The Yureka Note also has stereo speakers, DTS audio, and fast battery charging. Other things that buyers should consider are personal preference of design and build and after sales-service.
From the above specs you might be able to decide between them based on the aspects more important to you. For example the Canvas 6 has a faster processor while the Yureka Note has a larger display. If you’re considering the Micromax Canvas 6 Pro rather than the regular Canvas 6 we’ll outline the differences. The Canvas 6 Pro has a 2GHz Helio X10 oct-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It also has the same rear camera but a lesser 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
