The Xiaomi Mi Band has been one of the more popular wearables in recent memory, but it has nothing to do with its design or features. It’s all about the price, and today we’re getting a look at the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 in a new live leak.
It’s hard to figure out if an image of an announced device is legit or not, especially when leaks roll in from all corners of the web. Occasionally, we get a leak of the official variety which is what we have with the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. The company’s CEO decided to take a selfie of sorts, and he was wearing an interesting looking wearable.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was at a conference in China when he took a photo of himself flaunting a new wearable. While it has a small display, it is certainly not a smartwatch, so we are going to assume it is the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. You can also see a physical button, and while we don’t know what it will control, we expect it to be in line with the previous model when it comes to features and functionality. We also expect it to be very affordable.
Nothing is concrete with the device Jun showed off in the photo, but all signs point towards a follow-up to the original Xiaomi Mi Band. At this time, that wearable can be had for around $12 if you shop around although we expect the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 price to be a bit higher due to the new display.
