Xiaomi officially unwrapped its Mi 5 flagship in February and if you’ve been waiting for the gold colored version you’re in luck. We have news of the Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold Edition price variants, as it’s about to go on sale some time after the other colors of the phone. The company has officially announced that it will be up for grabs from 10am on April 29, which of course is tomorrow.
When the Xiaomi Mi 5 was first announced it was introduced in several colors. The phone went on sale in China on March 1 but so far the gold version had not been available. The company’s website shows that the Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold Edition will come in two versions, standard and high, and it will have a 3D glass build rather than ceramic.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold Edition standard version has a price of CNY 1,999 (around $308, £212, or Rs. 20,500). Its specifications include a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 820 procesor and Adreno 530 graphics. There’s 3GB of RAM, 32GB of UFS 2.0 storage, and the phone also features a fingerprint sensor. For further specs do check out our launch article on the phone.
Meanwhile the Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold Edition high version has a price of CNY 2,299 (around $355, £244, or Rs. 23,590). This model has a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 510 graphics, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. It’s worth pointing out that there’s also a Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro version, and yesterday we reported that the white 3D glass variant had just launched at a slightly lower price than the ceramic model (see details here).
Have you been patiently waiting for the Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold Edition to go on sale? What are your thoughts on the pricing of the Mi 5?
