In the last few days we’ve seen the official launches of the Lenovo ZUK Z1 and Meizu M3 Note smartphones in India. There’s a bit of a difference in pricing although there are several similarities as far as specifications are concerned. We’re looking at the Lenovo ZUK Z1 vs Meizu M3 Note India price and specs so that you can see how they compare.
These are both Android smartphones that will be available soon exclusively through Amazon India. The ZUK Z1 is a dual SIM handset and flash sales begin on May 19th. The M3 Note is a hybrid dual SIM smartphone meaning the second SIM slot can be used for a microSD card for storage expansion. Processors
The Lenovo ZUK Z1 is equipped with a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics. The Meizu M3 Note has a 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor with Mali-T860 graphics.
Display
There’s nothing between them here as both phones have a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 resulting in 402 ppi.
RAM and Storage
The Lenovo ZUK Z1 has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that’s non-expandable. The Meizu M3 Note in India also has 3GB of RAM but has 32GB of internal storage. However, this is expandable via microSD card to 128GB.
Camera set-up
The ZUK Z1 packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, OIS, dual-LED flash, and 1080p video capture, plus an 8-megapixel shooter at the front. The M3 Note has a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, dual-LED flash, and 1080p video, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Battery
There’s another match here as both handsets have a non-removable 4100 mAh battery.
Connectivity
Both phones support 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. The ZUK Z1 has USB Type-C 3.0 while the M3 Note has microUSB 2.0.
Operating System
The Lenovo ZUK Z1 runs the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12.1. This will be upgradable at some point to the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based Cyanogen OS 13. The Meizu M3 Note runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, this time with Flyme OS 5.1.
Dimensions, Weight, Colours
The ZUK Z1 measures 155.7mm x 77.3mm x 8.9mm and weighs 175g. The phone in India comes in a dark Grey colour. The M3 Note measures 153.6mm x 75.5mm x 8.3mm, weighs 163g, and comes in Gold, Grey, or Silver.
Price
The Lenovo ZUK Z1 price at launch was announced as Rs. 13,499. The Meizu M3 Note price is cheaper at Rs. 9,999.
From the above it’s easy to see that both phones have a lot to offer and have some of the same specs despite the gap in pricing. Only you can decide if the extra money for the ZUK Z1 is worth it based on the specifications most important to you. We’re not delving into every feature here, though we will say that they both have a fingerprint sensor. Other factors that buyers should consider are preference of design and after-sales service.
