Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra is official with a 6.8-inch display

#

Asus has introduced several new products today, but one looms larger than the rest. The Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra is far larger than your typical smartphone, and the specs aren’t too shabby either.

Remember when people thought phablet-sized smartphones were a bit too large? Those days are ancient history considering half the smartphones out there are in the 5.5-inch range these days. The Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra will absolutely dwarf those handsets as it has a massive 6.8-inch display that sports a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. While the resolution isn’t quite what we’d like, you will have plenty of screen to work with.

Beneath that large panel of glass, you’ll find an octa-core Snapdragon 652 backed by a whopping 4GB of RAM while the storage is listed at 64GB or 128GB, both of which are expandable. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, 4G LTE, and a fingerprint scanner.

Other features to note include a 23MP rear camera with an LED flash, an 8MP front-facing snapper, and dual stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio. The Dual-SIM handset will run Android 6.0 and is powered by a huge 4,600mAh battery that can also double as a power bank.

Normally, we would classify the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra as a niche device as that monstrous display isn’t something everyone is going to flock to. That said, the specifications and price is going to turn a few heads, which could open up a wider audience for the giant phablet.

Pricing for the 128GB version is unknown, but the 64GB model with 4GB of RAM will set you back around $479 when it hits the streets.
