It has been busy over at the benchmarking sites this week. A number of new smartphone leaks have broken through those sites, and you can add one more to the list with the Sony F8331.
While we don’t have a proper moniker at the moment, we can assume the Sony F8331 is from the Xperia lineup as it’s a step up from the X Performance. In fact, the specifications mimic those of the Performance so much that we think there could be a typo in the listing somewhere unless it’s the same handset with a new wrapper.
On paper, the Sony F8331 smartphone is in the flagship class thanks to a Snapdragon 820 processor and 3GB of RAM. The display is listed at 5.1-inches with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080, which means Sony isn’t ready to step into the QHD age quite yet. It also puts the device a rung or two down from other flagships in its class with better displays and more RAM.
The internal storage for the Sony F8331 is listed at 32GB and the cameras are going to be stellar. The rear snapper is a 23MP sensor while the selfie sensor clocks in at 13MP. Again, that’s similar to the combo in the Xperia X Performance, so we will assume the connectivity options and other features remain the same as well.
It remains to be seen what the Sony F8331 will come to market as or if it will just be another variant from the company. Needless to say, we will keep you in the loop as we learn more about the mysterious device and Sony’s plans for the latter half of 2016.
What would you like to see from Sony this fall?
