Galaxy On5 Pro and On7 Pro Released by Samsung in India
Samsung’s Indian exclusive Galaxy On series have received two new phones. The Galaxy On5 Pro and On7 Pro have very minor changes compared to their siblings and it looks like Samsung is just trying to cope up with the Chinese competition in the Indian market. With phones like the Le 2, Redmi Note 3 and the Honor 5C reigning over the budget category, Samsung is finding it difficult to keep up with them.
Starting off with the Galaxy On5 Pro, it still comes with the 5-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Under the hood, it is the same Exynos 3475 quad-core SoC with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and Mali-T720 GPU. Previously, the RAM was at 1.5GB and the internal storage was at 8GB. Both of these have been bumped to 2GB and 16GB respectively.
All the other specifications are the same as the older model and the Galaxy On5 Pro has nothing new to offer. It comes with Android Marshmallow out of the box and has the S-Bike mode, which has been heavily advertised. For an asking price of Rs.9,190 or around $137, there are better alternatives in this price category.
The Galaxy On7 Pro is also featuring the same changes in terms of memory and storage. The chipset stays the same with the Snapdragon 410 chipset. RAM has been bumped to 2GB, while the storage is doubled to 16GB. The 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera from the On7 stay. This one too comes with Android Marshmallow out of the box.
The On7 Pro is priced at Rs.11,190 or around $167. Both of the phones are available in Black or Gold color options and can be bought through Amazon India. But for their asking prices, it would be foolish not to go for other alternatives that offer much better specifications and performance.
