We recently learned a new contender was headed stateside from Huawei next month. Just in case you needed further proof, the device known as the Huawei Honor 8 has rolled through the FCC in the U.S.
If you reside in Europe, India or the Far East there are a lot of options to choose from when it comes to highly spec’d smartphones. Here in the states, the selection is rather slim as most folks can only get their hands on products from Samsung, Apple, HTC and the rest of the usual suspects. Huawei… not so much.
A new device stopped by the FCC today carrying the model number Huawei FDR-L04. This is believed to be the Huawei Honor 8, which means consumers in the U.S. will have a new contender in the mix very soon. If the price is as sweet as it is in China, you can expect it to be very popular given the Honor 8 specs.
The Huawei Honor 8 was recently unveiled in China, and while we haven’t gone hands-on, it looks to have been worth the wait. The glass-backed beauty sports a 5.2-inch FHD panel and is powered by the speedy Kirin 950 and 3-4GB of RAM. There’s an option when it comes to storage as well although we have no idea if both models with come to the states. Either way, you can expect 32GB or 64GB depending on which way they decide to go.
Like a good camera? If so, you will appreciate the Dual 12MP setup on the rear of the Huawei Honor 8. That sensor has Laser Autofocus and a Dual-LED flash, while the front-facing snapper is listed at 8MP and has an LED flash. A fingerprint scanner, NFC, 4G LTE, and a Type-C USB port are in the mix along as well along with a removable 3,000mAh battery. The Huawei Honor 8 will run Android 6.0.1 when it rolls out.
We don’t have an exact Huawei Honor 8 release date for the U.S. but know that the company has setup an event for August 16th in San Francisco. All bets are on the Honor 8 making its debut, and it will be one to watch if the price comes in at between $300-350 as expected.
