We have not heard much about the Samsung Galaxy On7 lately, but that has changed today. The unannounced smartphone has rolled through Geekbench and left a trail of scores and specs in its wake.
The 2016 Galaxy On7 has traveled down a long and winding road so far. It’s been on our radar since June when it hit the FCC, and not long after that, we learned when it might make its debut. Thanks to the Geekbench listing that has appeared today, we are able to confirm some of the Samsung Galaxy On7 specifications and we’ve got a bit of news on a new feature as well.
According to Geekbench, the Samsung Galaxy On7 carries the model number SM-G610F and was tested running Android 6.0.1. The chip running things is shown as an ARMv8 @ 1.59GHz with 8 cores, which translates to the speedy octa-core Exynos 7870. The model number matches up the variant headed to India although we know there will be a Snapdragon version of the handset as well. The only other specifications listed were 3GB of RAM, but there are a slew of results from testing here if you want to see how it performed.
A previous GFXbench listing for the SM-G6100 showed the On7 would have a 1080p panel, 16GB of storage, and a solid 13MP rear snapper. We are going to assume this model will have similar specs along with a flagship feature. A Zauba listing for India showed the SM-G610F importing for testing with a fingerprint scanner, something that would be a big draw on the 2016 version of the On7.
The Samsung Galaxy On7 is rumored to make its official debut for India very soon, this month in fact if the previous rumors pan out. While it pales in comparison to the Note 7, the new sensor and updated specs could make it a winner if the price is reasonable.
