Hot Deal Alert: You can Save $150 on the BlackBerry Priv

BlackBerry Priv

Today’s hot deal  alert is about the BlackBerry Priv, the smartphone of choice for privacy oriented users, as for the remainder of the month this baby is on sale at a 23% discount. That means $150 less when buying a high-end BlackBerry smartphone which runs on Android, as weird as this may sound for the company’s fanboys.

The BlackBerry Priv marked a world premiere for the Canadian tech giant, being their first Android running device but definitely not the last, as they just revealed their second droid, the DTEK50. However, the BlackBerry Priv is a very interesting combo of an Android running device and a physical QWERTY keyboard, offering a true-blue BlackBerry experience with the convenience of owning a smartphone running a very familiar OS, with all the benefits deriving from it (the App ecosystem and all that).

Hence, until the end of August, you’ll be able to put your greedy little hands on a brand new, sim FREE/unlocked BlackBerry Priv for just $499. The smartphone will work on both T-Mobile and AT&T in the United States being a GSM model. Keep in mind that yesterday, a BlackBerry Priv would have drained $650 from your bank account, so today’s a good day if you’re from the US or Canada.

As a quick reminder, the BlackBerry Priv comes with a cool 5.4 inches wide AMOLED display featuring a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Under the hood you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, i.e. a hexa core (six cores) architecture with the CPUs clocked at 1.8 GHz. There’s also an Adreno 418 GPU if you’re into the latest games and 3 GB of RAM on-board, together with 32 gigabytes of native storage (expandable via micro SD cards). The main camera is a powerful 18 MP variety with optical image stabilization and all the bells and whistles one would expect from a high end droid. The battery is a juicy 3410 mAh power plant while the Priv runs on Android 6.0 out of the box and it slides open, revealing that awesome physical keyboard we all know and love.
