Meizu has just unveiled two new devices with a new naming scheme. Dubbed the Meizu U10 and the U20, these smartphones are budget mid-rangers that offer great price-to-performance ratio. The two phones come in two variants each, with more RAM and internal storage. The phones will be available in China only as of now, and a global launch may be in the cards. Meizu has not recorded a tremendous growth percentage compared to its other Chinese compatriots like Xiaomi, Huawei, and OPPO. They’ve been launching a lot of smartphones lately and it might be to gain a bit more market share.
Just like the name suggests, the Meizu U10 is the smaller handset of the two. It comes with a 5-inch IPS display, whose resolution they’ve not mentioned. Under the hood, there is an octa-core chipset along with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
There is a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera as well. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the home button of the Meizu U10. The battery is decent at 2,760mAh. The Meizu U20, on the other hand, features a full HD 5.5-inch display. The U20 also has an octa-core chipset under the hood with the same configuration of RAM and storage as the U10.
Even the camera sensors on the U20 is the same as the U10. The major difference of the U20 from the Meizu U10 is that it comes with a larger battery of 3,260mAh. They are both covered with 2.5D glass on the front and rear. Both the phones support fingerprint payment via Alipay and also other payment platforms.
If you didn’t know, the YunOS is AliBaba’s OS and we will definitely see more devices with this OS in the future. Meizu U10 will be available online on September 18th and offline on September 19th. It costs 999 Yuan ($150) for the base model and 1199 Yuan ($181) for the top model. Meizu U20 will be available online from August 28th and offline from August 29th. It costs 1099 Yuan ($166) for the base model and 1299 Yuan ($192) for the top model. Both the phones come in white crescent, sky black, rose gold and champagne gold color options.
