It’s been a few weeks since we heard anything new from Intex. That has changed today as the Intex Aqua S2 specifications and price have become available for India. It’s an entry-level handset that won’t break any records but does come with one interesting feature.

The last phone we covered from Intex was the Aqua Strong 5.1. That handset was priced at an affordable Rs. 4,999 and the Intex Aqua S2 price is actually a fuzz cheaper. That doesn’t mean they cut any corners necessarily, and you may even be surprised as this one has a fingerprint scanner making it one of the cheapest handsets to sport that feature.

Intex opted for a 5-inch panel on the Intex Aqua S2 and it’s of the IPS variety with a resolution of 854 x 480. Beneath the glass, you will find a quad-core Spreadrum SC7732 clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB of RAM. The storage is listed at 8GB and is expandable up to 32GB through the usual means. The device measures 146.4mm x 73mm x 9.65mm and has a weight of 153.8grams.

The rear camera on the Intex Aqua S2 is listed at 5MP with an LED flash and the front-facing camera uses the same size sensor. Connectivity options include GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G and Dual SIM slots along with the aforementioned fingerprint scanner. The Intex Aqua S2 will draw its juice from a 2,450mAh battery and is listed as running Android 6.0.

As mentioned, the Intex Aqua S2 specifications don’t paint a pretty picture if you like speed. That said, the fingerprint scanner is a nice touch and it’s hard to knock the Intex Aqua S2 price of Rs. 4,990 given that feature. The handset is currently available in White, Grey, and Champagne if you are looking to scoop one up.
