A few weeks back, we told you about the Oukitel U15 Pro and its solid specifications. Now we’re back with word on the Oukitel U15S, which will roll out soon with 4GB of RAM under the hood.
The mid-range isn’t what it used to be. A few years ago, you were lucky to get 2GB of RAM on a smartphone in that class whereas 3GB is somewhat standard these days. A fingerprint scanner was something you only found on flagships as well. While the new Oukitel U15S is still a mid-ranger, it’s one of the more enticing ones you’ll find for the price.
Oukitel opted for a 5.5-inch panel on the Oukitel U15S, and it sports 5 point multi-touch with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. The display is housed in an aluminum shell and it will be fairly thin measuring 150.9mm x 76.2mm x 7.6mm with a weight of 169.6 grams. The processor will provide plenty of pop as it’s an octa-core MediaTek MTK6750T, which is backed by the aforementioned 4GB of RAM.
When it comes to storage, you’ll be in good shape out of the box with 32GB. The Oukitel U15S also allows for expansion up to 128GB through a microSD card slot. The cameras are interpolated up through software and listed at 16MP on the backside and 8MP on the front. All the usual suspects are present in the connectivity department as well with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Dual SIM slots, and a fingerprint scanner. The handset draws its juice from a 2,450mAh battery and is listed as running Android 6.0 out of the box.
If you are intrigued by what the Oukitel U15S brings to the table, a flash sale has it listed at $139.99 through Gearbest at the moment. The price will rise up to $159 when the presale flash period is over and the first units are set to ship out on December 3rd.
