The soon to become the new sensation in emerging markets, and I am talking about the upcoming Oppo Find 9 is one of the most rumored smartphones in history and today’s one adds to the previous stack, having the device running on Qualcomm’s future Snapdragon 835 system on chip. The arrival date is claimed to be March of 2017 and what’s interesting enough, the company itself never mentioned it, despite the fact that the Oppo Find 9 is supposed to replace the current Find 7 which is two and a half years old.
In smartphone years, that’s almost three generations and truth be told, Oppo’s silence about their next flagship is very intriguing. The Oppo Find 9 achieved legendary status among the rumor mill aficionados and professional leaksters as claims about its imminent arrival are as old as 2015. Back in the day, the Find 9 was said to feature Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass 5 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, which is now the new normal among premium droids. Obviously, none of those rumors materialized, but today’s one is very juicy and it will make the fans dream once again.
According to a report from two months ago, the Oppo Find 9 was nixed for 2016 and today’s claim sort of confirms it. Now we have a Chinese source, because Oppo is a Chinese company after all, claiming that the Find 9 will be announced officially sometime in March of 2017, meaning that its triumphant arrival at 2017’s Mobile World Congress in February is almost impossible, though I’ve seen stranger things in the tech world.
The future Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 was teased by the company this month but it’s not official just yet. However, the leakster claims that the Find 9, being a flagship-grade smartphone will run on the respective chip-set and that kind of makes sense, at least theoretically. The same chipset architecture is said to arrive in Samsung’s Galaxy S8 too. As per our hero of the day, rumor has it to sport 6 GB of RAM and a QHD display. Let’s wait and see, stay tuned.
