Huawei has taken the wraps off a new smartphone today in the Huawei P8 Lite 2017. The handset is scheduled to roll out soon and will carry a price tag of around $254 for the base model when it lands.
Huawei has undergone a bit of expansion over the past few years. Their smartphones are now more available in regions like the U.S. and they don’t appear to be taking their foot off the pedal anytime soon. The Huawei P8 Lite 2017 is one of the newest handsets from their arsenal and it falls into the mid-range category. Even if your heart is set on a flagship, that doesn’t mean this one isn’t worth a look however, especially given its price.
The Huawei P8 Lite 2017 is of average size with a 5.2-inch display sporting a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. Beneath the glass, you will find the octa-core processor known as the Kirin 655 and your choice of 3GB or 4GB of RAM. If you opt for the former, you’ll get 16GB of storage while the latter comes with 32GB. Both models have a microSD card slot for expansion as well.
On the rear of the Huawei P8 Lite you will find a 12MP snapper with an LED flash. The front-facing camera is listed at 8MP. Connectivity options include a Fingerprint Scanner, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE. The handset also sports a Hybrid Dual SIM card setup to go along with a Single SIM variant. The Huawei P8 Lite 2017 will draw its power from a 3,000mAh battery and will run Android 7.0 out of the box.
Huawei didn’t pin an exact release date on this one but said to expect it before the end of January. It’s priced at $254 for the 3GB/16GB edition but the 4GB model’s price is unknown at this time. The smartphone will be available in White and Gold if you go the Single SIM route while the Dual SIM model is available in Black.
