Back in December there were some details of Hisense A2 specs from a spot at regulatory authority TENAA. The new smartphone with an AMOLED and also an E-ink display has now officially launched. We have details of the Hisense A2 price and more. We don’t see many new smartphones with E-ink displays so this one could be interesting.
Some people may have heard of Russian manufacturer YotaPhone and the YotaPhone 2 that featured an E-ink display. While many are still waiting for the YotaPhone 3, Chinese manufacturer HiSense has launched the new Hisense A2 through a crowdsourcing project. The Hisense A2 price is CNY 2,999, which equates to around $435, £350, or Rs. 29,000.
We now have the confirmed Hisense A2 specs, which line up nicely with the previous TENAA spot. The phone has a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor with Adreno 505 graphics. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory that can be expanded via microSD to 128GB. The rear-facing camera has a 16-megapixel sensor with 75-degree wide-angle lens, and there’s a 5-megapixel camera at the front with 84-degree wide-angle lens.
A 3090 mAh battery keeps the light on and the phone also features fast charging. Connectivity options for the dual SIM Hisense A2 include 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, USB 2.0 Type-C, and USB OTG. The China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile carriers support it. The new smartphone weighs 188g and measures 157mm x 76.8mm x 8.45mm. Further features include an IR Blaster and it has a fingerprint sensor incorporated into the power button on the right side of the handset.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the device is the displays though. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 at the front. Meanwhile the E-ink display at the rear measures 5.2-inches and has 960 X 540 resolution. Both displays have 2.5D glass atop and the phone also features a built-in iReader app. This includes content of 3000,000 online books with 5,000 free credits up for grabs. Another feature is dual-touch technology whereby users can swipe or tap on the rear E-ink display to control the main display on the front.
It’s good to see a new smartphone with something a little different while the specifications offer enough to keep buyers interested. What do you think about the newly launched Hisense A2 price and specs?
