There have been numerous leaks about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 that’s expected to be unveiled soon. Much less has been heard about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, understandably perhaps as a release is further away. Leaks have begun trickling out though, and now a new Galaxy Note 8 rumor points to Baikal as a codename for the device.
Samsung really has to get things right for its phablet flagship after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. Previous rumors for the Galaxy Note 8 so far have included a larger display while 4K resolution has also been tipped. Interestingly we recently reported on a rumor for a Galaxy S8 Plus suggesting it could have a screen size of 6.2-inches, so it will be interesting to see where Samsung goes with the Note 8.
Now a Twitter post has teased the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with an image saying that it has the code name Baikal. From this we can take it that the phone is in development right now although we would have expected that anyway. The picture shows a stylus amid a frozen lake. Those who want the detail might like to know that Baikal is a huge lake in Siberia that is thought to be the deepest lake in the world.
Of course this new Galaxy Note 8 rumor doesn’t give us any more to chew over in the way of specs, features, or a possible release date. We can expect much more over the next few months though and we’ll bring you the latest information as we hear it. In the meantime some readers might enjoy a recent Galaxy Note 8 concept design that we shared that included specifications based on some of the leaks so far.
Are you eagerly waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, codenamed Baikal if this latest rumor is accurate? What would be a deal breaker for you this time around (apart from it exploding of course)?
