Nokia unleashed several different smartphones today at MWC 2017. The Nokia 5 price and specifications have been on our minds for weeks, and now they are official. The handset will cost €189 and is an option if you don’t need something as powerful as the Nokia 6.
It is safe to assume HMD has made a splash. They got whipped consumers and fans into a frenzy with the Nokia 6 launch before announced three additional smartphones. We have already touched on the revamped Nokia 3310 today, which means it’s time to turn our attention to the Nokia 5. While a step down from the Nokia 6, this one is cheaper and just as stunning.
The Nokia 5 is built with quality in mind. The handset sports a body built from a block of 6000 aluminum and has clean lines that stay true to the new Nokia vibe. It is an attractive smartphone, and you’ll have plenty of screen to work with thanks to a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720. Beneath that glass, you’ll find a Snapdragon 430 along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
HMD opted for a 13MP sensor on the rear of the Nokia 5 with PDAF and a Dual-Tone LED flash. The front-facing snapper clocks in at a cool 8MP. All the usual boxes are ticked in the connectivity department as well with Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC, a Fingerprint Scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack and 4G LTE. It runs Android 7.0 out of the box and will sip its power from a 3,000mAh battery.
As with the rest of the new Nokia smartphones, we don’t know exactly when the Nokia 5 will arrive. It’s tipped for a Q2 release with the rest of its brethren and will land in Matte Black, Copper, and Tempered Blue. The Nokia 5 price is listed at €189, which equates to around $199 or Rs. 13,330.
