Xiaomi is one of the most known companies in the world that produces a wide arrange of technology products. Their smartphones made them famous, mainly because of their excellent specs and design for a low price. There is an option for every price range – from the lowest to those that want the best. Few years ago, they announced the Mi Mix – a concept phone that was available for the public. It had pretty slim bezels, ceramic body and an astonishing design. They updated it again last year, and now, they announced the Mi Mix 2S – the continuation to the famous lineup. Let’s see what it can offer!

Design

Since it’s a Mix, we already know that it will be gorgeous to look at. Starting the full display craze, the Mi Mix 2S keeps the thing it is most recognizable for. On the front, you will find the 5.99” display with 1080×2160 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is pretty stretched out, with the bottom bezel being the largest. This is where the front camera is placed, and it could be strange at first use. When you look at the whole picture, this could be the answer to anyone hating the notch. It is much more refined and beautiful to look at. On the back, you will find the cameras in the top corner, with the “Design by Xiaomi” slogan in the middle. The ceramic body feels pretty nice in the hand. This time around, it is separated by a metal frame from the front.

Features

On the inside, you’re getting the best internals available right now. Starting with the chipset, inside the Mi Mix 2S you will find the Snapdragon 845 processor. It is the latest and greatest and should handle any task you throw at it with ease. The processor is accompanied by either 6 or 8 GB of RAM, so even the most notorious multitaskers should rest assure. Speaking of memory, there are also different options for the internal storage – 64, 128 or 256GB. You can choose depending on your needs but know that you cannot upgrade it with a MicroSD card. Finishing with the battery, you’re getting a 3400mAh one.

The camera department is one of the places Xiaomi improved the Mix lineup. We can see that the Mi Mix 2S is also jumping on the dual-camera setup train, including one combo on the back. The lenses are 12MP + 12MP, with the second being a telephoto lens. We already know that the previous Mix took excellent pictures, and we’re expecting the same for the Mix 2S. On the front, you’re getting a 5MP shooter, which could be low for some users. Nevertheless, you’re going to get decent pictures for your social media accounts.

Finishing with the software, the Mi Mix 2S is shipping with Android Oreo. It is skinned with MIUI 9.5, which could be turning away for some users. But, it is packing many useful features, and the newest version is optimized pretty good.

Pricing and availability

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will be available for purchase at the end of April. Users in the west will be able to import it through the various services and sites. For now, there is no pricing available yet.
