Xiaomi Mi 6X rumors!
Xiaomi is doing extremely well with their brand. The range of affordable products that satisfy the customers’ needs without any compromises on the quality made them what they are today. We’ve seen many different products from them, with smartphones being the thing they’re most recognizable for. We just looked at the Xiaomi Black Shark, a smartphone designed for gamers and a direct competitor to the Razer Phone. Today, we’re taking a look at some details about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6X. Therefore, let’s begin!
Design
From the leaked images, we can see that Xiaomi is continuing on the tradition to replicate the iPhone’s look. On the back, we can see the camera setup placement in the exact same spot as on the iPhone X. This is a trend that we’ve seen with other manufacturers as well, and it’s the only thing that is copied from the iPhone. For the rest, you’re getting an aluminum body with curved edges. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the back in the natural spot when you’re holding the device. On the front, the display fills out most of it. Unfortunately, we don’t have any information about the size of the panel, but we expect it to be around the 6” mark. What we do know is that it is going to feature 18:9 aspect ratio and 2160 x 1080 resolution.
Features
Going on to the performance, the Xiaomi Mi 6X should be the successor to the Mi 5X and the Mi A1. And that means that the internals will be upgraded. Starting with the chipset, the Mi 6X is going to feature the Snapdragon 660, an upgrade of the predecessor’s Snapdragon 625. Therefore, the chipset should handle almost any task you throw at it. Going on to the memory, the device is going to feature 4GB or 6GB of RAM, giving you the option to choose. Storage wise, you also have the option from 32GB to 128GB, depending on the version. Lastly, we don’t have any information about the battery, but it should be around the 3000mAh to 4000mAh range.
Switching to the camera department, we can also see that it is going to receive an upgrade. The Xiaomi Mi 6X will feature a dual 12MP + 20MP combo on the back with f/1.8 aperture. The second lens won’t be a telephoto one, but we’re still probably going to see a Portrait mode feature. On the front, a 20MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture and accompanied by a flash is sitting proudly. Judging from the predecessors, we expect for the Mi 6X to continue and improve the picture quality.
Finishing with the software, the Xiaomi Mi 6X will feature Android Oreo 8.1 out-of-the-box. It will be based on MIUI 9, the company’s own skin. And although it looks a little bloated, it is one of the most popular skins that customers want. For customers out of China, the device is probably going to be stock again, as the Mi A1.
Pricing and availability
The device is most likely to be announced on the 25th of April, with a release in the week after that date. There are no details about the pricing yet.
