Honor, the subsidiary brand of Huawei, released a lot of devices recently. The company made big efforts to increase their presence in the budget and midrange markets. Recently they announced some great devices, like the Honor View 10. It offers excellent specs and a premium design for a low price. And now, they’re back again with another budget device. Meet the Honor 7C, yet another budget device from the brand that offers some decent specs and features. Without further ado, let’s begin!
Design
Starting with the design, the Honor 7C is keeping up to the trends of 2018. The device features a metal unibody design with a 2.5D tempered glass. On the front, you will find the 5.99” FullView display. It has 1440 x 720 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio, increasing your real estate. The increased aspect ratio reduced the size of the bezels to a significant size, but they’re still noticeable. Nevertheless, it’s a pretty modern phone, proudly carrying the standards and trends from this year. On the back, you will find the dual camera setup in the top corner, with the fingerprint sensor in the middle.
Features
On the performance side, you’re getting a pretty good package for the price this device is sold at. Starting with the chipset, inside the Honor 7C you will find the octa-core Snapdragon 450 processor. It’s on the lower side, but it can handle most tasks smoothly. It is accompanied by 3GB of RAM, which is more than enough for serious multitasking. Speaking of memory, the device also features 32GB of internal storage. It should be enough for all of your files and media, and it can be further upgraded with a MicroSD card. Finishing up with the battery, the Honor 7C packs a 3000mAh one. It should easily last you through a full day of use.
Switching over to the cameras, Honor again follows the current trends and adds a dual-lens camera to the back. You’re going to get a 13MP + 2MP combo on the back with Phase Detection Auto Focus. That should give you the famous bokeh effect that blurs out the background of your subject. You’re also going to get panorama and HDR modes. The camera should take pretty decent pictures with good color saturation and dynamic range. On the front, you’re going to get an 8MP shooter that should be perfect for your selfies. It is accompanied by a LED flash with three levels of brightness.
On the software side, the Honor 7C comes with Android Oreo out of the box. It features the EMUI 8.0 skin on top of it, that modifies it heavily and packs in some nice features. It has some design choices that reassemble iOS, but it’s not a blain copy of it.
Pricing and availability
The Honor 7C is currently available in the UK, with more countries to follow. It is priced right below £200, a pretty good value price considering the package you’re getting.
