Apple iPad 2 Will Not Feature AMOLED Display
The next darling gadget from Apple, other than the iPhone 5, Verizon iPhone, and white iPhone 4, will be the next generation Apple iPad, currently being called the Apple iPad 2, and one would have presumed that as AMOLED displays are the big thing in smartphones, and that apparently the iPad can’t use a Retina Display as reported by The iPad Guide, one would have expected the Apple iPad 2 to sport an AMOLED display.
However apparently this is not the case as according to an article over on 9to5 Mac by Mark Gurman, Digitimes is reporting that Apple has apparently placed an order for back light units (BLUs) from Coretronic to be used in the next Apple iPad.
Apparently the BLUs will be used with LCD displays which are constructed by Chinei Innolux and LG Display, and thus would mean that Apple has decided to forgo AMOLED displays on the second generation Apple iPad because AMOLED displays do not use BLUs.
Thus it would appear that the new Apple iPad 2 will be stuck with an LCD display rather than AMOLED or evena Retina Display, although it is always possible Apple could find a way around using other displays sometime in the future.
We have posted a list of some of the possible Apple iPad 2 features which can be seen by hitting up (here), but as most of the specifications are still unconfirmed rumour it is possible the Apple iPad 2 will eventually surface sporting different features then those listed.
So what would the Apple faithful like to see feature-wise with the next generation iPad? Would you prefer a Retina Display or AMOLED rather than an LCD or don’t you really mind what display the device sports as long as the device is better and offers more features that the original iPad?

The Retina Display is LCD you muppets
The author has stated that the retina display probably won’t be in the next version of the iPad because of what’s said on the site of which the link he’s provided. If you follow the link and read the article it mentions that it would be difficult to implement a retina display on the iPad because the resolution would be sky high and no mobile processor currently on the Market would be able to handle it. The resolution would be 6 times the current resolution of the current iPad.
