Also Sony Ericsson has also stated that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 3 inch capacitive ouch screen also makes single handed texting via the virtual keyboard and navigation “a breeze” and the device is also the most affordable SIM free Android smartphone with Sony Ericsson at under €200.

The head of Digital and CRM for Sony Ericsson, Ben Padley has said, “Sony Ericsson’s new phone, the X8, gives consumers more choice when it comes to finding the right touchscreen smartphone for them. Some users love the compactness of the X10 mini but others the more handheld PC feel of the X10. However, a handset sized in the middle, like the X8, is just what some consumers have been waiting for.”

Spec wise according to GSMarena, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 sports GSM 800/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 900/2100, HSDPA 850/1900/2100, measures 99 x 54 x 15mm, weighs 104 grams, 3.15 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, 600 MHz processor, Android operating system, 128MB storage, microSD expansion up to 16GB and a 3.5mm jack.

So is Sony Ericsson right in their assumption, does the Xperia X8 appeal to customers because of its size and price or doesn’t size matter when coming to choosing a smartphone?
