iOS 4.2.1 Redsn0w 0.9.7b1 Released for Untethered Jailbreaking

A new beta of Redsn0w has now been released to the iPhone jailbreaking community bring the version of Redsn0w to 0.9.7b1 and this newly released version enables users to perform untethered jailbreaking of the iPhone 4, iPod 4G and Apple iPad.

According to an article over on iPhone-developers, this latest version of Redsn0w was released by the iPhone Dev Team, and the guys over at Redmond Pie have a nice step by step how to guide available on their website if you wish to try it out.

According to the Redsn0w 0.9.7b1 guide you’ll require a few things before commencing, such as your Apple iPhone, Apple iPod Touch or Apple iPad will need to be running iOS 4.2.1, will require SHSH blobs saved for iOS 4.2 Beta 3 along with Mac OS X access to iOS 4.2 Beta 3 firmware file.

Apparently Redsn0w version 0.9.7b1 is limited to the above only and if you use Ultrasn0w for your unlock then you need to stay away from Redsn0w 0.9.7b1.

However if you can manage all the above and opt to try out Redsn0w 0.9.7b1 then feel free to let us know how you get on and if you experience and issues by posting to our comments area below.
