If you love smartphones and gaming then we know you will love the new Sony PlayStation Phone, we have more news for you covering the new Sony Ericsson Xperia branded handset by the way of a YouTube video.

New Youtube footage is now online showing the new PlayStation Phone running Resident Evil 2 and Rage Racer, according to Edge the phone is playing these games through an emulator and clearly shows a menu titled ROM Buddy.

The games being played have been launched through BIN files and images ripped from the original discs, so does this mean that the Xperia Play has built in PS1 emulation?

The new PlayStation Phone resembles the PSPGo and features a touchscreen and a slide-out PlayStation-style d-pad and buttons; it also features touch-sensitive analogue pads. No official announcement has been made yet but we can expect to hear something soon.
