I just traded up from the Blackberry 8520 to the G2 and this is/was also a possible contender. I am seriously debating on using my 14 day trial period to return the G2 and get this. Of course, this is highly dependent on the bloatware that the Galaxy S 4G has pre-installed that I would need to wade through to get a solid performing device comparable to the G2's nearly unlimited potential for modification.
I just sold my Vibrant. Not because of a negative experience, I sold it so I could get the S 2.
I'll be passing on the SGS 4G. Besides, the Vibrant has a FFC "hole," it's simply blacked out. There's how-tos on YouTube on how to scrape off the paint covering the FFC hole, where to get a FFC, and the software to run it is free on the Net.
Considering the S2's specs it made no sense for me, a Samsung Galaxy S owner, to get the same phone with 4G and a FFC. (My phone in San Francisco was plenty fast at 3G, so 4G was not worth the additional money.)
The Vibrant 4G does make sense, however, to anyone who has not owned an Samsung Galaxy S, IMHO.
The Vibrant (an Samsung Galaxy S phone) was probably the best phone I have ever owned, and that's saying a lot considering I have had maybe 300 phones over time and can get any phone I want.
So I am really looking forward to getting an S2. My 4" SAMOLED display was fantastic, so getting such quality on a 4.3" display, that's so much pleasure I have to lay back and have a smoke after using it, and I don't even smoke.
I just wish it had a flash for the camera, would that have killed them to do a simple thing like that? That's why I'm still leading towards the G2.
My thoughts exactly, why didn't they spring for a flash for the camera? It would be perfect except for that flaw.
I was told by t-mobile it has a flash on the foward facing camera
