The Web-based business intelligence (BI) software provider LogiXML, have added a new enhancement to the company’s BI platform Logi Info, with the introduction of Logi Mobile.

With the BI platform, organisations are able to design mobile BI applications, which can then be installed into an array of devices, thus eliminating the requirement for investment and specialised development skills in keeping a varied set of native mobile applications.

Also, by the leveraging of HTML 5, Logi Mobile will enable IT to support a range of devices and deliver compelling mobile features such as push-button emails and texts, on-demand scrolling and caching, geo-location, screen size and orientation detection – to a number of mobile devices, which include Blackberry, Android, iPhone and iPad.

As indicated in an article by CBRonline, Brett Jackson LogiXML CEO said most BI companies have constructed proprietary, mobile BI products that are device-specific and this approach is certainly one option.

“However, we believe that the mobile device market will become more heterogeneous and that our customers prefer a different approach. We are giving them the ability to continue to develop their BI applications within Logi Info, which is familiar to them, and extend their applications to any mobile device without the headache of deploying, managing and supporting specialised, device-specific products,” said Jackson.
