Asus Eee Pad Transformer Hits 1.4GHz via Overclock

It seems that the big thing in the mobile space at the moment is overclocking devices to deliver performance improvements and the latest device to receive the overclocking treatment is apparently the Asus Eee Pad Transformer that sports a 1GHz chip but has been overclocked to the tune of 40 percent to hit 1.4GHz.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Liliputing, the guys over at XDA-developers have uploaded a custom kernel for the Android 3.0 Honeycomb packing Asus Eee Pad Transformer.

However according to Ubergizmo, at that 40 percent speed increase, performance of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer isn’t stable but you could level it out an 1.2GHz to achieve a balance and see how that goes.

Naturally you’ll need to root your Android tablet to be able to install the required software, which could void your warranty and possibly run the risk of losing your data, so made sure you do a backup before proceeding.

If any of our readers use a rooted Asus Eee Pad transformer and give the overclock a go feel free to let us know how you get on or if you experience and problems by posting to our comments area below.
