So just how much is owning an Apple iPad 2 worth to you? The old saying an arm and a leg perhaps, or how about a new saying, I’d give my kidney to own an Apple iPad 2? Sound weird doesn’t it, but it’s apparently true, some Chinese kid sold his kidney to buy an Apple iPad 2.

According to an article over on Newslite by way of The Telegraph, 17-year old Chinese teen only identified by his surname “Zheng,” apparently sold one of his kidneys after seeing an advert that offered money for being an organ donor.

Apparently Zheng told Shenzhen TV… “I wanted to buy an iPad 2, but I didn’t have the money. When I surfed the internet I found an advert posted online by agent saying they were able to pay RMB20,000 to buy a kidney.”

Thus Zheng travelled to Chenzhou in Hunan Province, had his kidney removed and was handed the cash, approximately £2000. Word is Zheng has complications after the surgery and this was the reason he told his mother what he had done.

The kids must have been desperate for that iOS tablet, would you be prepared to sell off one of your organs if you couldn’t afford the Apple iPad 2, or do you believe that is taking things a bit too far?
