Acer Iconia Tab A501 4G For AT&T Release Date and Price Confirmed
Phones Review Quickie: For those over in the good old US of A that may be waiting for the 4G Acer Iconia Tab A501 to come out on the AT&T network, it appears that AT&T has now confirmed just when potential customers can pick up the Android slate and how much the device will hit your pocket for.
According to the guys over at Slash Gear, AT&T has now confirmed that the Android Honeycomb packing Acer Iconia Tab A501 with 4G will become available as of the 18th of this month and command a price tag of $330 on a two-year term.
However if you wish to pick up the Android slate off contract, the 16GB Tegra 2 packing tablet will cost you $480, however one must bear in mind that the 4G connectivity mentioned is actually AT&T’s HSPA+ rather than 4G LTE.
Otherwise the specs for the Acer Iconia Tab A501 remain the same as the Acer Iconia Tab A500, which are a 10.1-inch touch screen, 5 megapixel rear facing auto-focus camera with flash, 2 megapixel front facing camera, 1GHz dual core processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 16/32GB and microSD expansion up to 32GB.
Obviously one has to consider that if you snap up the Acer Iconia Tab A501 with its “4G” HSPA+ connectivity, the Android slate will be left behind on a slower connection once AT&T rolls out their 4G LTE network.
And as the WiFi only 16GB Acer Iconia Tab A500 currently only costs $374, perhaps it might pay to give the A501 slate a pass unless you particularly require that integrated data connection of course. Will you be snapping up the 16GB 4G Acer Iconia Tab A501as of the 18th?

Something else to note…AT&T does not have another tablet that has a USB host port…this means any usb data device, as well as some peripherals (keyboards, etc) can be used, allowing for more functinonality than any other device.
