For those Android faithful in the United Kingdom who may be pondering on whether to pick up a network unlocked and SIM free Android Gingerbread smartphone, you might like to know that the ZTE Skate and ZTE Libra smartphones are now available to purchase.

Both the ZTE Skate and ZTE Libra are being offered by The Smartphone Centre, with the ZTE Skate commanding a price tag of £214.95 including VAT and free UK delivery, while the ZTE Libra will hit your pocket for £159.95 again including VAT and with free UK delivery.

So what do these two Android smartphones offer the potential customer? Well let’s kick off with the spec for the ZTE Skate, which packs a 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen, 800MHz processor, 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, 512MB of ROM and RAM, A-GPS, compass, FM radio, microSD expansion, 3.5mm jack and Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

As for the ZTE Libra, the smartphone offers a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen, 600MHz processor, 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1,512MB ROM, 256MB RAM, A-GPS, compass, FM radio, microSD expansion, 3.5mm jack and again Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Dimension wise the ZTE Skate measures 125.9 x 67.8 x 10.4mm with a weight of 120 grams and a 1400mAh battery delivering up to 5 hours talk time and up to 288 hours standby time.

The ZTE Libra measures 114 x 56.5 x 12.1mm with a weight of 118 grams and a 1250mAh battery delivering up to 4 hours talk time and up to 200 hours standby time.
