iPhone 4S Pre-orders Hit First Day Record
Phones Review Quickie: Well it looks like the iPhone 4S is undoubtedly going to be a huge success story for Apple just like any other iPhone they have released. The current iPhone 4 held the record for the most pre-orders in a single day at 600,000 units, but the iPhone 4S has now smashed that record.
According to the guys over at Phone Arena, Apple has announced the iPhone 4S now holds the record for pulling in the most pre-orders for an iOS smartphone, pre-orders to the tune of a staggering 1 million in a single day.
The senior vice president of product marketing, Phil Schiller says, “We are blown away with the incredible customer response to iPhone 4S. The first day pre-orders for iPhone 4S have been the most for any new product that Apple has ever launched and we are thrilled that customers love iPhone 4S as much as we do.”
Thus is seems that although many of the iPhone faithful were somewhat disappointed that Apple didn’t unveil the redesigned iPhone 5, it hasn’t stopped them from pre-ordering the iPhone 4S in their droves regardless of whether the handset looks the same as the current iPhone 4.
To put things slightly in comparison if you take the Android toting Samsung Galaxy S II, the smartphone sold 5 million handsets in the first 5 months, but with the iPhone 4S already pulling in 1 million pre-orders as of the first day it looks set to out do the Galaxy S II, which isn’t really surprising considering the large following Apple has, and let’s face it, Apple releasing a new device is bound to be a big seller right out of the gate.
