Ice Cream Sandwich receives Adobe Flash player by years end

As I am sure you have probably heard, Adobe recently announced they would no longer the develop Adobe Flash player for mobile devices, and concentrate on mobile apps and HTML5, which has raised some questions as to whether Adobe Flash player would be coming to the latest Android OS Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Well it appears that that particular questions has now been answered, as according to the guys over at Pocket-lint, Adobe has now confirmed they do plan on releasing Flash for Android Ice Cream Sandwich by the end of the year.

However apparently with the release of Flash for Android 4.0 it will be the last update, meaning that after Android 4.0 other Android operating systems such as Android 5.0 will not include Adobe Flash player.

An Adobe spokesperson told Pocket-lint, “Adobe will release one more version of the Flash Player for mobile browsing, which will provide support for Android 4.0, and one more release of the Flash Linux Porting Kit – both expected to be released before the end of this year.”

So there you have it, which means the Samsung Galaxy Nexus should get Adobe Flash Player sometime early next year along with any other Android Ice Cream Sandwich, but it does look like after that we can all say goodbye to Adobe’s Flash player for good.
