Samsung Captivate Android 2.3 Gingerbread update via Kies Mini
It may not be one of the latest up-to-date smartphones on the current market such as the new Galaxy Nexus, iPhone 4S or even Motorola’s Droid RAZR, but if you’re a user of Samsung’s Captivate phone that released back in 2010, then you’re be pleased to learn that its receiving a new update.
When we talk about a new update, at long last the Captivate is upping its operating system from Android 2.2 Froyo to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Thanks to South Korean Samsung and US carrier AT&T, the Captivate as mobileburn.com reported, will now benefit from an improved UI with copying and pasting, on-screen keyboard and overall improved performance.
In order to receive the new 2.3 update, users will need to plug their Captivate into a PC and install the upgrade with the aid of Samsung’s Kies Mini software. Advice as always is to back up your device before trying to attempt this.
Have you been waiting for the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread update?
