Sony may drop Ericsson after $317 million Q4 loss

News for tech company Sony Ericsson has been looking bleak, with reports that the company have suffered major losses in the fourth quarter equating to a figure of $317 million, which has been put down to a drop in sales of products such as phones, mainly to their price, how the company would be affected after it was bought by Sony and also the effects from Thailand’s floods.

As thenextweb.com reported, Sony bought out Ericsson’s 50% stake of the jointly owned company back in October of last year, for a whooping $1.29 billion. Reports are now pointing to the sale of mobile phones featuring alongside other products such as TV’s, computers and tablet devices.

It has been reported that Sony are looking to go it alone with a drop in the Ericsson name, but in the meantime the entire takeover is due to take effect at the end of the month beginning of next.
