Samsung Galaxy S2 boasts huge Korean sales

Now we all know just how popular the Samsung Galaxy S2 is globally, and apparently the Android smartphone isn’t doing all that bad on Samsung’s home turf of South Korea either, as old Sammy has now announced that the Samsung Galaxy S2 has sold in excess of five million on their home ground.

According to the guys over on The Next Web, Samsung is the leading smartphone vendor in South Korea, and garners 53 percent of handset sales, and reported the Galaxy S2 reached 1-million sales within its first month and in less time than it took the original Samsung Galaxy S.

When old Sammy release the Samsung Galaxy S2 in Korean back in April 2011, in the first three days the Galaxy S2 sold 100,000 units, and within eight days has shifted some 200,000 handsets whilst taking 2-weeks to hit the half million mark and reaching the 1-million milestone in a month.

The original Samsung Galaxy S took some 70-days to reach that magical 1-millon handsets sold milestone, so it just goes to show how popular the Galaxy S2 has been.

According to the guys back in October 2011 the combined sales of both the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 was over 30-million sale globally, with both smartphones breaking company sales records since their release.

So there you have it, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is one very popular smartphone amongst the Android faithful out there and no doubt the Samsung Galaxy S III will turn out to be just as popular once the handset surfaces.
